20. Zhangye Danxia Landform, Gansu, China:

The Danxia landform in the southeast and southwest portions of China refers to various landscapes that “consist of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs.” The Danxia landform is formed from the most amazing, red-colored sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. Danxia covers several provinces in southeast China, including Taining County, and Fujian Province. Additionally, it is named after Mount Danxia—one of the most famous, original examples of the Danxia landform.
