Happiness
The old saying “money doesn’t buy happiness” is definitely true, but the sarcastic footnote “but it certainly can help” may be true as well. If you can’t afford to have your basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter met, having enough money to pay for these necessities will likely relieve a lot of stress and make your life easier, bringing some level of happiness in tow. The harder questions come once you can afford to meet your basic needs. When you have enough money to live with some basic comfort, what can you spend on to really make you feel happier?
